ST. PAUL, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team tied Macalester College 1-1 late in the second half of the match Wednesday night. The last time CSS had gotten a goal past a Scots goalkeeper was September 1, 2012.

The Action
In the first half, the Scots dominated, outshooting CSS 9-4. 27 minutes would pass in the half until St. Scholastica shot for the first time on goal. The Saints kept the game scoreless until 20 seconds left in the half, when CSS turned over the ball in the box and Macalester took advantage with a Chris Bajek goal. With the Scots late edge, they carried a 1-0 cushion going into the second half.

In the second half, the Scots once again outshot CSS, recording a 9-5 differential. CSS fought back and with 11 minutes left, had a breakthrough. Luke Buckton (Bath, England/Writhlington School) scored his 10th goal of the season, tying the game up 1-1. The game would go into overtime.

Macalester outshot Scholastica 5-1 in the first and second overtimes, but neither team was able to net the goal they needed for victory. This match marks the end of a four-game win streak for Macalester that started in 2013.

Notable Performances
Buckton, Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) and Alex Dodd (Lakeville, Minn./Burnsville HS) each recorded two shots on goal.
