Mische-Richter Fourth, Men’s Skiing Third in Rhinelander

RHINELANDER, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's nordic ski team finished third on Sunday in the 15km classic Rhinelander Qualifier at the COVAC Trails.
 
Top Performances
Once again it was freshman Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) leading the Saints with a fourth-place finish with a time of 42:18. That is his first top-five finish in a CCSA Qualifier race.
 
Dan DeLestry (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) was 13th overall to score for the team, coming across the finish line in 44:13. The final Saint to score was Jack Christianson (Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) with a time of 44:51, which was good enough for 21st overall.
 
Isaac Wieber (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) was the fourth Saint competing and he placed 29th with a time of 46:15.
 
Team Scores
The Saints finished with third with 72 points, narrowly defeating the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, who had 70 points. Northern Michigan University won with a total of 102 points and Michigan Tech University was second with 84 points.
 
Kjetil Banerud of Northern Michigan won the overall event with a time of 41:15.
 
Up Next
The Saints will be at Michigan Tech University next weekend for a pair of qualifying races in Houghton.
