DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team suffered its first setback of the season on Sunday with a 1-0 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College at Saints Field.

The Action
In a matchup of evenly matched teams on paper proved itself on the field with the Gusties just edging the Saints in shots (12-11) and in shots on goal (6-4) for the game.

After a scoreless first half that showed high energy from both squads, Gustavus put a lot of pressure on the Saints to start the second half. The Gusties earned a pair of corner kicks in the opening two minutes and on their second corner got a fortunate bounce off a Saint and into the net to take a 1-0 lead.

CSS put a couple of shots on goal in the second half, but good opportunities were limited as the Gusties came out on top 1-0.
