DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The College of St. Scholastica men's soccer team made quick work of the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings Saturday afternoon, defeating them on the road by a score of 3-0 to improve to 2-0 in conference play.

The Saints came into the matchup riding a 6-1 opening conference win over the North Central University Rams, and hoped to keep things rolling as they took on a tough Viking squad. Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), who had two shots prior, netted the first one for the Saints on a penalty kick at the 28-minute marker. Henderson's goal would be the first action as well as the last action in the first half as CSS entered halftime with a 1-0 lead.

It took the Saints just seven minutes into the second half to increase the lead to 2-0 as Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) got one past the Bethany Lutheran keeper off an assist from Craig Chudley (Exeter, England/Exeter College). Alex Dodd (Lakeville, Minn./Burnsville HS) then added more cushion 44 seconds later on an unassisted goal to make it 3-0.

Th rest of the match would prove to be scoreless as the Saints walked out of Mankato with a 3-0 victory to advance to 4-2 (2-0 UMAC) on the year. St. Scholastica goalkeeper Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) collected two saves in the shutout effort, which marked the first of the year for the Kenora native.

The win keeps St. Scholastica's winning streak over Bethany Lutheran alive as it moves to 27 in a row. The Saints have only lost once in Mankato, which dates all the way back to 1980.
