DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team blanked Northland College 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at Saints Field for its second consecutive shutout.

First Half
20 seconds into the game, Juan Ochoa (Chihuahua, Mexico/Prepa Tec) got the first shot on goal for the Saints, which was saved by the Northland goalie. CSS would shot 10 more shots on goal in the first 25 minutes until Ochoa, with the assist from Luke Buckton (Bath, England/Writhlington School) and Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), finished inside the right post. Ochoa's second goal of the season would put the Saints on the board first at 1-0.

Less than eight minutes later, Kyle Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux) sent in a cross that was re-directed by Buckton that deflected off the post and in to make it 2-0.

The Saints kept the momentum going by scoring a minute later. Buckton and Jacob Carson (Fairbanks, Alaska/West Valley HS) would assist Ethan Kiffmeyer (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) for his first goal of his career strengthened the St. Scholastica's lead 3-0.

CSS would strongly play out the next 12 minutes by shooting four more times on goal. All of these shots would be saved by the NLC goalkeeper, and the half would end with a score of 3-0.

Second Half
The Saints shot on goal three times before Ochoa, with the assist from Buckton and Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS), scored in the 59th minute of the game. Noah Hooey (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) scored unassisted with 15 minutes left in the game, bringing CSS to a 5-0 lead. Three minutes later, Henderson would play off this momentum and would score after he dribbled in the ball from midfield. The Saints would try to widen the now 6-0 with three more late shots on goal, but time would run out and the final score would be 6-0 in favor of CSS.
