HOUGHTON, Mich. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's ski team placed third out of five teams on Saturday in the 10km classic race of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Distance Championships at the Michigan Tech Nordic Training Center.
The Action
The Saints were led once again by
Reitler Hodgert (Bend, Ore./Summit HS ), who placed fifth overall with a time of 29:26. The fifth place finish was a career-best at a CCSA Championship in a distance race.
Ryan St. Clair (Bend, Ore./Summit HS (Walla Walla)) came in next for CSS, with a top 10 finish, coming home ninth in a time of 30:11. The final Saint to score was
Dan DeLestry (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) in 13
th with a time of 31:02.
St. Scholastica had four more skiers place in the top 20 of the 30 CCSA skiers competing.
Isaac Wieber (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) was 15
th,
Teddy Widmer (Bend, Ore./Bend HS) 18
th,
Chris Hecker (Ham Lake, Minn./Anoka HS ) 19
th and
Gerrit Garberich (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS ) 20
th.
Northern Michigan University swept the podium with the top three finishers.
