DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team scored two second half goals to rally past the University of Minnesota Morris 2-1 on Thursday in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament semifinals.

The Action
The first goal of the game went to the Cougars. Denis Ostroushko took advantage of a rebound and put the ball in the net, assisted by Zachary Jacobson. This put the score at 1-0 and the remaining 10 minutes of the half would be scoreless for both squads.

The Saints were able to make some progress offensively in the second half. The first goal for CSS came from Juan Ochoa (Chihuahua, Mexico/Prepa Tec), assisted by Alex Dodd (Lakeville, Minn./Burnsville HS), for his seventh goal of the season. This tied the score at 1-1 with lots of game left to be played. The go-ahead goal for the Saints came just over 10 minutes later from Noah Hooey (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) for his fourth goal of the season. He was assisted on the play by Jacob Carson (Fairbanks, Alaska/West Valley HS). In the final 15 minutes of the game, the Saints managed two shots on goal and the Cougars had one, neither of which made it past the keeper. The 2-1 score stayed until minute 90, and the Saints came away with the victory to carry them to the UMAC championship game.

Notable Performances
The Saints had senior keeper Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) in the net, and he made three saves during the game. Ochoa and Hooey were the goal scorers for CSS. Luke Buckton (Bath, England/Writhlington School) applied pressure on offense as well with three shots on goal.

For the Cougars, Cody Christ made four saves in the net. Ostroushko had the sole goal for UMM. Luqman Barre, Gabe Arrequin, and Zachary Jacobson each had a shot on goal, and Jacobson had the assist on the scoring play.
