MILWAUKEE, Wis. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's hockey team fell 4-1 in a contest against No. 15 Milwaukee School of Engineering. The game featured eight disqualifications, 106 penalty minutes for CSS and 91 for MSOE on 20 penalties and 18 penalties, respectively.

The Action
The first score of the game came for MSOE () after a hooking penalty put the Saints on the penalty kill. Zach Simpson collected the goal for the Raiders just short of the halfway point of the first period. The Saints tied things up thanks to Kristofer McKinzie (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Minnesota Magicians-NAHL)), assisted by Nate Pionk (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS (Minot-NAHL)), with three and a half minutes left to go before the first intermission. With four seconds left in the period, just one minute after the start of the power play for the Raiders, Garrett Gintoli put one between the pipes to regain the lead for MSOE.

The second period saw the Raiders advance their lead on a power play goal from Chris Hinrichs to put them up 3-1. Near the 14th minute of the period, a scrum put one Saints player in the box on a major penalty for contact to the head and a Raiders player was called for hitting after the whistle for a minor penalty. The Saints killed off the major, despite being down a man for three minutes.

The final period of the game was a physical one. The Raiders scored early on, another power play goal, this time from Zack Davis, to put MSOE up 4-1. The score would not change for the rest of the game, but as the clock ticked down the game got more physical and with just over four minutes left, chaos erupted between the teams. The scrum resulted in eight disqualifications - four for each team. The rest of the game was unproductive offensively for both clubs, and the teams parted ways with the Raiders coming out on top.

Goaltending
Between the pipes for CSS was freshman Forbes Ploszaj (Gilbert, Arizona/Gilbert HS (Aberdeen-NAHL)) who saved 26 of the 30 shots he faced.

Rock Boynton was in goal for the Raiders and he also had 26 saves, but on 27 shots.

Up Next
The Saints (3-3, 3-3 NCHA) are off next weekend and return to action on Saturday, November 25th for a bridge battle in enemy territory in Superior against the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
