PREVIEW: Men's Soccer Showdown Set for Tuesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – In the only regular season meeting between the two rivals this year, the St. Scholastica men's soccer team welcomes the University of Wisconsin-Superior Tuesday at Saints Field in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) showdown.

-Superior has won its last two games, including a 3-1 victory at Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.
-The Yellowjackets lead the conference in fewest goals allowed per game (0.90).
-Superior leads the UMAC in corner kicks attempted (58).
-Eric Watson leads the team with five goals and 11 points.
-Jon Bucklew and James Bruce each have three assists.
-Josh Herd and Dalton Von Kaenel have split time in goal.
-Herd leads the conference with a .870 save percentage.
 
Series Record: CSS leads 13-5-4 (Last Meeting: 2-2 Tie – 11/5/2016)
 
Series History: The Saints lost to the Yellowjackets last year at Saints Field, however, that contest was considered a non-conference game … CSS won 3-1 in Superior in the conference game … Then the two met in the UMAC Tournament championship where the game would be decided by a penalty kick shootout with the Saints prevailing … UWS has not lost on Saints Field since it has been converted to turf (1-0-2).
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints remain at home to face Martin Luther College on Homecoming Saturday at Saints Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. following the women's game.
