DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team allowed a pair of goals in both halves on Monday in a non-conference loss to Carleton College at Saints Field.
The Action
The Knights got on the board early when Trevor Freeland beat the keeper in front in the eighth minute. Carleton added to its lead with less than two minutes remaining in the first half on a Tashi Tsering header to make it 2-0 at halftime.
The Knights then drew a penalty kick in the first five minutes of the second half and William Lanzillo converted it to make it 3-0. Carleton made the final 4-0 on a Nicolas Graese goal in the 77
th minute.
Notable Performances
Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) made eight saves in the loss for the Saints. Aidan Mullen had three saves to earn the shutout for the Knights.
Luke Buckton (Bath, England/Writhlington School),
Avnish Miyangar (Birmingham, England/Queen Mary’s Grammar School) and
Sam Brickley (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) had the shots on goal for St. Scholastica.
