Men's Soccer Blanks Northland Behind Buckton's Three Goals

ASHLAND, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team scored all four of its goals in the first half to shut out Northland College 4-0 Wednesday night at Ponzio Stadium.
 
The Action
It took only two minutes and 45 seconds for the Saints to get on the scoreboard as Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) scored his first goal since September 16 to make it 1-0. Alex Dodd (Lakeville, Minn./Burnsville HS) was credited with the assist.
 
After that Luke Buckton (Bath, England/Writhlington School) took over. Buckton made it 2-0 in the 10th minute with an assist from Juan Ochoa (Chihuahua, Mexico/Prepa Tec). After the Saints failed to convert a penalty kick, Buckton made it 3-0 in the 39th minute with an assist from Noah Hooey (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS). Buckton then scored unassisted less than two minutes later for the final score of 4-0.
 
Notable Performances
Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) made four saves to earn his third shutout of the season. Bobaric and Dodd each had a pair of shots on goal.
 
Thomas Whiting made eight saves in the loss for the LumberJacks.
