Reitler Hodgert (Bend, Ore./Summit HS ) finished second on Saturday to lead the men's Nordic ski team in the 10km freestyle at the Hilltop Invitational at the Marshall School trails.
The Action
99 skiers competed in the junior qualifier event that was also Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) race. The interval start meant the skiers were chasing the clock more than the opposing skiers.
Hodgert would post a time of 24:36, but Michigan Tech University's Gaspard Cuenot would take the event with a time of 24:23. Michigan Tech would place first among CCSA programs in attendance. Northern Michigan University was second and the Saints were third.
Jack Christianson (Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Ryan St. Clair (Bend, Ore./Summit HS (Walla Walla)) completed the scoring for the Saints coming home 21
st and 22
nd overall (11
th and 12
th in the CCSA). Christianson finished in 26:19, while St. Clair had a time of 26:24.
Sam Boardman (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) was 14
th among CCSA skiers, while
Gerrit Garberich (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS ),
Chris Hecker (Ham Lake, Minn./Anoka HS ) and
Dan DeLestry (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) also had top 20 CCSA finishes.

The Hilltop Invitational continues tomorrow with another 10km freestyle race at the Marshall School. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
