csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team never trailed, scoring three runs in the first and then four in the fourth as it took care of St. Olaf College on Friday 9-2 in a game that was called after six innings due to rain.

Steven Neutzling (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral ) hit a bases loaded single to bring in a pair of runs and then
Chris Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS ) doubled to plate Neutzling and give the Saints a 3-0 lead.
The Oles got one run on the board in the bottom of the first, taking advantage of a St. Scholastica error. However, the Saints got that run back in the second on an
Austin Colvard (Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) sacrifice fly that scored
Haydn Lanoue (Rosemount, Minn. /Rosemount HS ) to make it 4-1.
Moving ahead to the fourth, Colvard hit a RBI double to score his brother,
Drew Colvard (Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS ), and make it 5-1. A couple batters later,
Trevor Bernsdorf (Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS ) hit a two-run double and he later scored on a St. Olaf error to extend CSS' lead to 8-1.
After the Oles had a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth, A. Colvard drove in another run with an infield single that plated
Riley Bernsdorf (Meadowlands, Minn. /Floodwood HS) to make it 9-2.
Following the sixth inning the skies opened up and the rains came. The game was eventually called with the Saints winning 9-2.
PitchingDaniel Wood (Canyon, Minn./South Ridge HS ) went four innings, allowing only one hit and striking out five to earn his first win of the season.
Jacob Dzubay (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS (Butler) ) pitched the final two innings and struck out three, while allowing only one hit.
Top Offensive PerformersA. Colvard was 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored. Seven other Saints recorded a hit in the victory. The Saints had five doubles and five stolen bases in the victory.
Up Next:The Saints (7-5) are scheduled to have their home opener next Saturday when they welcome the reigning national runners-up University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to Wade Stadium for a three-game series. Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
