DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) -- The St. Scholastica men's hockey team scored three times in the third period for the 5-3 win against conference opponent Lake Forest College (Ill.) Saturday afternoon at Mars Lakeview Arena.

First Period
The Saints received the first penalty of the night two minutes into the game, but were able to kill the power-play successfully. The Foresters, however, were able to use this momentum to their advantage. Anthony Annunziato scored the first goal of the game seven minutes in to give LFC an early 1-0 lead.

St. Scholastica's Brett Radford (Campbell River, British Columbia/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Canmore-AJHL)), with the help of teammates Cole Golka (Ardrossan, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Dryden Ice Dogs-SIJHL)) and Derek Sutliffe (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School (Langley Rivermen-BCHL) ), was able to respond a minute later and tie up the game 1-1.

Only 46 seconds after that, Kyle Beaulieu (White Rock, British Columbia/Earl Marriott (St. Norbert)), with the assist from Kale Derkson (Regina, Saskatchewan/Sheldon Williams Collegiate/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Notre Dame-SJHL)), followed suit, and was able to score to put the Saints in the lead. This was senior Beaulieu's second goal of his career; the last time he scored was his sophomore year. The Saints would lead 2-1 going into the second.

Second Period
The second period was rough for the Saints. Five minutes in, the Saints received a penalty. The Foresters were able to take advantage of this power play, scoring 12 seconds in. This goal tied up the game 2-2.

Within the next minute, LFC scored a second goal to put them back in the lead 3-2. CSS would fight hard the rest of the period to try to even up the score, but the Foresters led 3-2 heading into the third period.

Third Period
St. Scholastica would tie up the score within the first three minutes of the period on a power play. Kyle Star (Langley, British, Columbia/Brookswood (Trail Smoke-BCHL)), assisted by John Hansen and Mark Whiteley (Surrey, British Columbia/Holy Cross HS (Marian University)), would get his second goal of the season and tie the score 3-3.

Midway through the period, Radford and Sutliffe would assist to Golka to put the Saints in the lead 4-3. This was Golka's fifth career goal.  Sutliffe would assist for the third time this game to give CSS a greater lead, with Derkson scoring, when only two minutes remained in the game. The game would end and the Saints would win 5-3.

Notable Performances
Radford and Sutliffe each had five of the Saints 36 shots on goal. Steven Phee (Balzac, Alberta/George McDougall HS (Canmore-AJHL) ), Max Mettler (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS (Minot-NAHL)) and Brandon Millin (Port Moody, British Columbia/Heritage Woods HS (Notre Dame Hounds-SJHL) ) had three shots on goal each. CSS goalie Megariotis saved 26 out of 29 shots he faced. His save percentage for the season is now .908.
