DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The College of St. Scholastica men's soccer team pulled off an impressive 5-0 win against conference rival Crown College on Saturday at Saints Field. Not only did the team pull off a great win, they also pulled off an impressive feat. St. Scholastica has now won 105 consecutive games against conference opponents. This broke the previous NCAA record held by Dominican University (Ill.), which ran from 2004 to 2013. The last loss for the Saints came on October 3, 2009 at the University of Minnesota Morris.

The Action
The first goal of the game came 26 minutes in with an assist from Scholastica's Kyle Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux), which led to a header goal into the upper left corner of the net by Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College). Farrar's sixth goal of the season put Scholastica on the board to take the early lead of 5-0.

Within a few minutes, Farrar was able to pass to Jonny Harkin (Birmingham, England/St. Benedicts School), who was able to drive the ball and shoot it in high left for his fourth goal of the season.

Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was able to sneak one final goal in the first half with only a minute to go, after being one-on-one with the keeper. The first half would then go on to end, with the Saints leading 3-0 at the half.

The next goal of the game came 20 minutes into the second half, with Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) beating the keeper in the front of the net. The assist came from Farrar, which broke another record for CSS. Farrar is now the first player in St. Scholastica program history to record at least 60 goals and 40 assists in a career. He, however, actually has 69 goals and 41 assists.

Three minutes later, Luke Buckton (Bath, England/Writhlington School) would take advantage of chaos in front of the net to sink another one in for the Saints. This brought up the score to 5-0 in favor of the Saints, and the game would end with the final score of 5-0 as the Saints tried and were unsuccessful three more times to get another goal.

Goalkeeper Corrado Rosato (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) saved the only shot he faced, which came in the first half of the game. Farrar led the Saints with four shots on goal. Harkin had three, while Bobaric had two shots on goal.
