SUPERIOR, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team scored three goals less than 10 minutes apart in the first half to distance itself from its Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior, winning the first of two regular season meetings 4-0 on Wednesday.

On a blustery, rainy day the Saints put the pressure on early as Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) hit the post in the 14th minute. A little over a minute later Charlie Crane (Southampton, England/Brockenhurst College) found the net on a header to give CSS a 1-0 lead.

Morgan would not hit post 22 minutes in as he put the Saints up by a 2-0 score. Just over two minutes after that, Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) extended the St. Scholastica lead to 3-0 with his seventh goal of the season. The Saints led 3-0 at halftime, out-shooting the Yellowjackets 15-5.

CSS added its fourth goal of the game less than four minutes into the second half on a Jonny Winter (Healthfield, England/Healthfield Community College) tally. Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) was credited with the assist. The Saints played a man down the final 27 minutes, but still preserved the 4-0 victory.

Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) made two saves to earn his third shutout of the season. The Saints had a 22-11 shot advantage in the game.
