DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team defeated Concordia College-Moorhead by a final score of 4-2 on Saturday at Saints Field, avenging its first loss of the season which came the day before.
First HalfThere were three total goals scored in the first half with two being scored by CSS and one by Concordia.
Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) got the scoring started early for the Saints netting home a
Ben Phillips (Lymm, England/Lymm HS) pass just 2:13 into the match giving CSS a 1-0 lead almost from the get go.
More than 30 minutes later,
Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) would tally his first of two goals on the night on a free kick in the 36
th minute to put CSS up 2-0. Concordia would answer with a goal of their own in the 41
st minute to set the halftime score at 2-1 in favor of St. Scholastica.

Charlie Crane (Southampton, England/Brockenhurst College) gave the Saints their third goal of the game on an assist by
Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) making the score 3-1 CSS.
Unfortunately for CSS, the Cobbers would answer quickly when, just 24 seconds later, they snuck one past Saints goaltender
Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) to make it a one goal game once again with plenty of time to go in the game.
The match would go over just 40 minutes without another goal until Corcoran boomed a long shot that landed past the Concordia goaltender for an insurance goal in the 90
th minute. That goal set the Saints into cruise control as they played out the rest of the game with the final whistle blowing to a 4-2 Saints victory.
The final stat line for Corcoran saw him score his fourth and fifth goals of the season on five total shots on goal, while Crane scored his second of the year on four total shots.
