ST. PAUL (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in each half to defeat Hamline University 4-1 on Tuesday to open the 2015 season.

It took 35 minutes for the Saints put a number on the scoreboard in the first half. Charlie Crane (Southampton, England/Brockenhurst College) scored CSS' first goal thanks to an assist from Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College).

Crane then did the assisting seven minutes later when he hooked up with freshman Jonny Harkin (Studley, England/St. Benedicts School) to give the Saints a 2-0 lead at halftime. CSS outshot the Pipers 6-1 in the first half.

Five minutes into the second half, the Saints added their third goal as Farrar added his first of the season. Only three minutes later, Jonny Winter (Healthfield, England/Healthfield Community College) found the back of the net with an assist from Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School).

Hamline spoiled CSS' bid for a shutout in the 83rd minute to make the final score 4-1.

Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) made four saves to earn his first collegiate victory in his first collegiate start. The Saints finished with a 9-6 shot advantage.
