csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team scored all four goals on the power-play as it defeated the University of Wisconsin-Stout 4-1 on Saturday at Mars Lakeview Arena to earn its first victory of the season.
The St. Scholastica men's hockey team trailed 2-0 with less than five minutes remaining and then 3-2 with less than a minute to play, but scored with the extra-attacker to earn a 3-3 tie against No. 9 University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the season opener Friday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.

With less than five minutes to go in the second period, Bruce added his second power-play goal of the game to make it 4-0 Saints at the second intermission.
PenaltiesThe Blue Devils (0-1-1) committed 16 penalties for 67 total minutes, while the Saints had eight penalties for 35 minutes. Most of CSS's penalties came in the final minutes when a fracas broke out and when the dust settled the Saints had to defend a 5-on-3. That is when Stout scored it's one and only goal of the contest when Tyler Cayemberg scored with 48 seconds left to make the final score 4-1.
Up NextThe Saints (1-0-1) will have next weekend off and will travel to Lake Forest College (Ill.) in two weeks to open conference play with a two-game series. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
