DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team defeated Martin Luther College by a final score of 13-0 Saturday at Saints Field to clinch another UMAC regular season title.
First HalfCSS scored four goals in a span of 4:05 early in the first half.
Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) got the scoring started at the 7:07 mark with the assist going to
Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) to put the Saints up 1-0.
Morgan would then follow up his assist with a goal of his own at the 8:12 mark just 1:05 later to make the score 2-0 with an assist by
Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights).
An own goal by Martin Luther just after the 10 minute mark made the score 3-0, and then at the 11:12 mark,
Charlie Crane (Southampton, England/Brockenhurst College) put home his eighth goal of the season to make the score 4-0 Saints early on.
CSS would not stop scoring after that.
Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) netted his first of three goals late in the 21
st minute, Folkes would add a goal of his own, and
Jonny Harkin (Studley, England/St. Benedicts School) would end the half with a 40
th minute goal of his own to bring the total to seven in the half for CSS.
By the time the halftime whistle sounded out, the Saints found themselves enjoying a 7-0 lead.
Second HalfThe Saints would not let up in the second half, scoring six goals total.
First, Farrar netted his second and third goals of the match just 1:39 apart in the 52
nd and 53
rd minutes respectively to complete the hat trick and put the Saints up 9-0.
Crane would also net his second goal of the match less than five minutes later at the 57:01 point in the match to bring the goal total to double digits at 10-0.
Next up for the Saints in scoring was
Ryan Flynn (Adelaide, Australia/Modbury HS (Century College)) who scored an unassisted goal at the 61:12 point to bring the lead to 11-0 in favor of CSS.
Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) would be next notching his first goal of the season beating the goalie 1-on-1 for the Saints' 12
th goal of the match with just over 10 minutes remaining in the half.
CSS would add a late goal on
Jonny Winter (Healthfield, England/Healthfield Community College)'s first goal of the match in the 89
th minute to set the final score at CSS

Farrar led the way in shots for CSS with eight, scoring goals on three of them while teammate Morgan tallied three assists to lead the way for the Saints to go with his early goal.
Goaltender
Chris Rothstein (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) recorded the shutout for the Saints stopping all three shots he saw in the match.
