DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The No. 23 St. Scholastica men's soccer team took care of business on Saturday, defeating Bethany Lutheran College 2-0 at Saints Field to remain perfect in UMAC play.
First HalfThe Saints came out firing in the first half, racking up 13 shots, while not allowing Bethany Lutheran to muster a shot.
Charlie Crane (Southampton, England/Brockenhurst College) broke the scoreless tie in the 19
th minute, finishing the
Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) assist to give CSS a 1-0 lead.
Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) added to the lead just a few minutes later, scoring on a penalty kick in the 26
th minute to put the Saints up 2-0. That would cap off the scoring, as CSS would take the 2-0 advantage into the locker room.
Second HalfIn the second half, CSS would out-shoot the Vikings again, this time 13-3. Despite the barrage of Saints shots, neither team was able to muster a goal, giving St. Scholastica the 2-0 victory.

Chris Rothstein (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) earned his third shutout of the season making a pair of stops.
