Saints Tie Bulldogs 2-2

Notables:
-Derek Sutliffe (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School (Langley Rivermen-BCHL) ) tied the game 2-2 for CSS with a third period goal.
-Tyler Bruggeman (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS (Austin-NAHL) ) made 39 saves in net for the Saints.
-The game finished at 2-2 tie after five minutes of overtime didn't produce a deciding goal.

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica men's hockey tied Adrian College 2-2 after five minutes of overtime hockey didn't provide a game-winning goal.
 
Adrian got off to a good start against CSS with an early power play goal in the first period. Matthew Thompson got the goal for the Bulldogs with Jeremy Olinyk and Josh Ranalli getting the assists.
 
The Saints would tie the score at 1-1 with a power play goal of their own at 1:08 of the second period.  Matt Malenstyn (Surrey, British Columbia/Tamanawis Secondary (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ) recorded the goal with Derek Hills (Campbell River, British Columbia/Timberline Secondary (Bowling Green State) ) and Dylan Nowakowski (Calgary, Alberta/Centennial HS (Brooks-AJHL) ) picking up assists on the play.
 
Adrian would answer back midway through the second with Josh Ranalli converting on a power play opportunity for his second point on the night. Kyle Brothers and Jeremy Olinyk were credited with assists on the goal.
 
St. Scholastica tied up the score at 2-2 at 1:34 of the third period when Derek Sutliffe (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School (Langley Rivermen-BCHL) ) scored his ninth goal of the year from Justin Krabben (Rocky Mountain House, Alberta/Hunting Hills HS (Canmore-AJHL) ) and Michael Spring (Kelowna, British Columbia/Okanagan Mission (Chilliwack-BCHL) ).
 
After 60 minutes of hockey the score was still tied between these two teams so and overtime period was needed to settle the score.
 
St. Scholastica entered into five minutes of overtime hockey against the Bulldogs but neither team could find a deciding goal and the game ended a draw at 2-2.
 
Tyler Bruggeman (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS (Austin-NAHL) ) had a stellar game in net for the Saints making 39 saves on 41 shots.
 
St. Scholastica and Adrian meet again at Mars Lakeview Arena on Saturday at 4 p.m.
