SAN ANTONIO, Texas (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 4-0 victory Saturday night over Southwestern University (Texas).

The Saints had many scoring chances in the first half, but could not finish. The Pirates also a few scoring opportunities as the style of the first half was wide open.

CSS converted late in the half as
Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) scored on a
Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) free kick in the 44
th minute to make it 1-0 at the half. The Saints out-shot Southwestern 13-6 in the half.

th minute, freshman
Jonny Winter (Healthfield, England/Healthfield Community College) struck a ball 30 yards out and snuck it into the near corner to make it 2-0. CSS kept it rolling as
Ben Cullen (Clough, Northern Ireland/Shimna Integrated College) found
Kyle Farrar (Sevenoaks, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) in the 80
th minute to extend the lead to 3-0. Two minutes later
Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) drilled a free kick past the keeper to make the final score 4-0.

Jacob Ballheimer (Gerrards Cross, England/Chalfonts Community College) earned his first career shutout, making five saves. The Saints had nine corner kicks in the contest and finished with 22 shots. The Prates fall to 0-2 on the season.
