DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team broke two relay records at the prestigious Drake Relays on Friday and Saturday as the Saints competed at four different meets.

Drake Relays (Results)
On Thursday night, Chelsea Johnson (North Branch, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) opened St. Scholastica's action at the Drake Relays in the 10,000m run. Johnson finished with a time of 37:14.62. That was the first time that she had competed in that event.

On Friday, the 4x400m relay team of Maggie Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS), Laurel Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS), Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) and Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) set a new program record with a time of 3:55.18. That time is currently 22nd-fastest in NCAA Division III.

On Saturday, the 4x800m relay team of Bre Adams (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), Buske, Emily Lundgren (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) and Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) set a new program record, posting a time of 9:20.10.

Kip Janvrin Open (Results)
On Thursday, Huberty began competition in the hammer throw at Simpson College. Huberty placed first with a mark of 173'10" (52.99m). On Friday, Huberty placed third in the shot put with a mark of 43'2.25" (13.16m).

Viking Classic (Results)
A few runners competed on Friday at the Viking Classic, hosted by Grand View University. Ohaju placed second in the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.32. Mogren placed fourth in that event with a time of 1:04.58. Kurtovich was ninth in the 200m dash with a time of 27.75.

Saint Mary's Open (Results)
The rest of the CSS squad competed at Saint Mary's on Saturday. Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) placed fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.85. Brea Durovec (Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS) was fifth in that event.

Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was also fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 12:18.69. Amy Campbell (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) was fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.14. Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) was fifth in the high jump, clearing a height of 4'11.5" (1.51m).

The Saints will be at the University of Minnesota Morris next Saturday for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championships. Action is slated to begin at noon.
