DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica woman's tennis team cruised to victories over Bethany Lutheran College and North Central University on Saturday.
CSS 9, North Central 0
A portion of the team played North Central at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
In doubles play, 
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) and 
Alexa Herbst (Foley, Minn. /Foley HS) defeated Hope Carlson and Nicole Demuth in the No. 1 singles spot 8-0. 
Halle Nystrom (Fargo, N.D. /Fargo North HS) and 
Aleksandra Ochrymowicz (Winnipeg, Manitoba/St. Mary’s Academy) in the No. 2 spot defeated Sarah Trickey and Mary Metzger 8-1.
Finishing up in doubles play, 
Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS) and 
Olivia Bretting (Ashland, Wis. /Ashland HS (St. Thomas)) defeated North Central's Regina Rassmussen and Hannah Hein 8-0.
In singles play, the Saints dominated only giving up two games in all flights.  In the No. 1 spot Scanlan defeated Demuth 6-0, 6-0.  Ochrymowicz continued the domination against Carlson in the No. 2 spot winning 6-0, 6-0.
Herbst won in the No. 3 spot against Metzger 6-1, 6-0 putting the Saints up 6-0.  Nystrom dominated Trickey 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 4 spot.  Adding another win for the Saints, Bretting won 6-0, 6-0 over Rassmussen. 
Finishing play for the Saints, Samz defeated Hein 6-0, 6-0. 
CSS 9, Bethany Lutheran 0
The other members of the team played Bethany Lutheran at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter.
Starting on the doubles side, 
Pamela Hartley (Lima, Peru/Franklin Roosevelt College) and 
Kelsey Geiger (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) at the No. 3 spot won 8-0. In the No. 2 spot 
Allie Carlson (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) and 
Katie Kingston (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) defeated Bethany's team 8-1. 
Finishing up the doubles competition, 
Alexis Gunderson (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and 
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) won 8-2 in the No. 1 spot, putting the Saints up 3-0.
On the singles side at the No. 6 spot, Kingston won 6-0, 6-0. Carlson dominated 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 spot.
In the No. 1 spot Gunderson conquered with a score of 6-0, 6-0. 
Hartley controlled the match to win by a score of 6-0, 6-1.  In the No. 2 spot Solberg collected another win by scores of 6-1, 6-0. Wrapping up play Geiger won 6-1, 6-0.
The Saints (9-5) will be in action next Saturday when they face the University of Northwestern in a key UMAC match. That match will take place at the Baseline Tennis Center.
