PREVIEW: Men’s Hoops Begins Second Half of UMAC Play Tuesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team hits the road tonight as it sees Northland College for the second time this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

- The Saints are coming off of a pair of losses to the University of Northwestern 85-65 on Friday and North Central University 71-57 on Saturday.
- Trevor Morlock (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (Minn., Crookston)) is leading the Saints in scoring with a 14.1 average per game (15.9 in league games). Jake Naslund (Barnum, Minn./Barnum HS) is the next leading scorer with 9.3 points per game average.
- Morlock is also 2nd in the UMAC with 7.8 rebounds per game.
- Andrew Laughlin (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) is averaging 8.7 points per game in the first seven UMAC contests.
- The Saints continue to struggle with taking care of the ball and are last in the conference with 14.9 turnovers per game.
- The Saints have lived and died by the 3-point shot the last couple of weeks, attempting 99 shots from beyond the arc in the last four games. CSS is averaged 19.8 attempts per game for the season.

- Northland is coming off a split weekend to the same teams with a loss against North Central 80-46 and an upset win over Northwestern 57-56 on Saturday.
- Carnell Sheppard leads the LumberJacks with 16.5 points per game and is fourth in the UMAC.
- Zach Ringhouse is third in the UMAC with a 40.8 3-point percentage per game and also chips in 13.1 points per game for Northland.
- With Ryan McDermoth and Sean Augustyn scoring 14.2 and 11.3 points per game on average, the LumberJacks have four different people averaging double figures.
- The Jacks lead the conference, averaging 27.5 3-point attempts per game.
- Northland is second in the UMAC for turnovers at 10.7 per game.
- Two of Northland's three wins this season have come at home.
