DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica women's soccer team will be making its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and its seventh overall on Saturday when it takes on the host team, Lake Forest College (Ill.), in the first round. The other two teams in the four-team pod are Aurora University (Ill.) and Concordia College-Moorhead.

Tournament MVP: Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) scored the game-winning goal in the tournament championship against Morris and was named UMAC Tournament MVP for her efforts.
Saints on a Roll: After starting the season 0-5 with a very difficult non-conference schedule, the Saints went on to win 15 of their next 17 games and are currently riding a nine-game winning streak.
High Scorers: Seniors
Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) both lead the Saints offensive attack. Kehtel leads the team in goals with 22 and Britton leads the team with 15 assists on the season, which is also tied for fifth in the country.
Solid Defense: The Saints defense, led by Senior goalkeeper
Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ), has not allowed a goal in five games. Reeves comes into the NCAA Tournament with a 13-6-1 record, a 0.74 goals against average, and a .762 save percentage. Reeves currently has a program record 29 career shutouts.
Another Top 10 Team: The Saints will playing their third nationally-ranked top 10 team of the season on Saturday in Lake Forest...The Saints fell to second-ranked Trinity University (Texas) to open the season and then to No. 6 Wheaton College (Ill.) in the third game of the season.
NCAA History: The Saints have scored at least two goals in two of their last three NCAA Tournament appearances, including last year's heartbreaking 3-2 overtime loss at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Series History: This will be the first ever meeting for the Saints against Lake Forest College.
#10 Lake Forest College ForestersLake Forest is ranked #10 in the country in the latest rankings… They finished the season undefeated with a 20-0-0 overall record and went 10-0-0 in Midwest Conference play… The Foresters defeated Grinnell College (Iowa) 7-2 and Ripon College (Wis.) 5-2 in the MWC Tournament last weekend to earn the league's automatic bid to the national tournament… Michelle Greeneway leads the team in goals with 32, which is also ranked fourth in the country… Holly Lesperance gives the Foresters some scoring balance as she has 13 goals this season… Lake Forest is also balanced in the assists department as they have three players with 10 or more assists with Sam Hillis leading the way with 19, which is third in the country, followed by Greeneway and Lesperance with 13 and 12 respectively… The Foresters rank 10th in the country in scoring offense, scoring at a clip of 3.85 goals a game… Rachel Tenuta has been the top goalkeeper in net 16-0-0 record, a 0.84 goals against average and a .814 save percentage.
Aurora University SpartansAurora owns a 17-3-1 overall record and was a perfect 10-0-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference this season…The Sparans edged out Dominican University (Ill.) 3-2 and Concordia University Wisconsin by the same score in the NACC Tournament… They will be taking on Concordia-Moorhead in the first round… Nicci Bermudes leads the team with 34 goals and 13 assists… Bermudes 34 goals are second in the country… Brittany Roydhouse is second on the team with 11 goals… Rachael Warnock has appeared in net for most of the Spartans' games, she comes in with a record of 15-2-1 with a 0.72 goals against average and a 0.84 save percentage.
Concordia-Moorhead CobbersConcordia-Moorhead enters the NCAA Tournament 13-4-3 overall and posted an 8-1-2 record in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference…The Cobbers were an at-large selection after falling 1-0 to Augsburg College in the MIAC Tournament final… The Saints took on the Cobbers earlier this season, when Moorhead was the #18 ranked team in the country, with the result being a 2-0 win for the Cobbers… Elizabeth Robinson leads the team with seven goals… Emily Wendorff and Libby Fransdel lead the team with four assists… Goalkeeper Elizabeth Bitzan has a 13-4-3 record with a 0.61 goals against average and a 0.845 save percentage.
