Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) and
Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) have been crucial to the teams success this year…Kehtel leads the Saints in scoring with 27 points and goals with 11… Kehtel also ranks third in the UMAC in both categories…Britton is the second leading scorer for CSS with 17 points and leads the team with nine assists.
A Good Offense is a Good Defense: The Saints sit second in the UMAC in goals-for per game and also have the second best goals-against average in the UMAC… St. Scholastica currently leads all UMAC teams with an average of 18 shots per game while holding opponents to just 10.3 shots per game…CSS has additionally won more corner kicks (90) than any other UMAC team.
Learning to Play Away from Home: CSS has been dominant playing at home this season posting a 4-1-1 record at Saints Field…Playing on the road, however, has given the Saints problems with a 3-3 away record and an 0-2 record at neutral sites…Gaining home field advantage in the UMAC Tournament will be crucial for St. Scholastica.
Secondary Scoring: St. Scholastica has had 11 different goal scorers this season…Kehtel and Britton are the only two CSS players who have reached double-digits in points so far this season…The Saints will need to continue scoring by committee as opposing defenses look to take away Kehtel who has accounted for nearly half of the teams goals scored.
Series History: St. Scholastica holds an all-time record of 30-0 against Crown College…CSS defeated the Storm 3-0 in their first matchup this season…The Saints are 19-0-1 all-time against Bethany Lutheran…St. Scholastica beat the Vikings 5-0 in its first matchup this season.
