DULUTH, Minn. — The St. Scholastica women's soccer team closed its 2025 home season with an inspired performance Tuesday afternoon, earning a 2–2 draw against Wisconsin–Stout at Kenny Harkins Field.
The Saints came out flying, finding the back of the net just 26 seconds into the match when Anna Manion (Superior, WI/Superior HS) buried a cross from Julia Lewis (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove HS) off a clever buildup started by Peyton Mathiasen (St. Cloud, MN/St. Cloud Cathedral HS). The early strike set the tone for a first half filled with attacking intent and confident play.
After the Blue Devils answered with two goals before the break, Scholastica continued to press and was rewarded in the 74th minute. Mathiasen delivered the equalizer, finishing a pass from Kaitlyn Sautter (Princeton, MN./Princeton HS) to make it 2–2.
Senior goalkeeper Sophia Seals (Orono, MN/Orono HS) anchored the Saints defensively, turning aside 12 shots—including a crucial penalty-kick save in the 86th minute—to preserve the draw. Scholastica finished with six shots on goal and held a 6–2 advantage in corner kicks.
Mathiasen capped her season with a goal and an assist, while Manion's opener marked her second tally of the year. The result gives the Saints a 4–11–4 overall record and a 2–6–2 mark in conference play, closing the fall schedule with positive momentum and a strong team showing on their home field.
