PREVIEW: Men's Soccer on the Road This Weekend

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team will be on the road this weekend as it takes on Crown College on Friday and follow that up with a match against Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.

Morgan on Fire: Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) is coming off a career game when he recorded seven assists in the Saints' last game against Northland … That sets a new program record … It also ties for the third-most in a game in NCAA history … He leads the nation in assists with 22 this season … Morgan also added a goal in the Northland game.

Scorers Everywhere: The Saints have three players with 15 or more goals so far this season … Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) has 19, which is also tied for first in the nation … Kyle Farrar (Sevenoaks, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) has 16 goals, which is tied for third in the nation … Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) has 15 goals, which is tied for sixth in the nation … As a team, the Saints lead the country with 6.31 goals per game.

The Defense is Also Strong: The Saints have only allowed two goals in UMAC play this season … Jacob Ballheimer (Gerrards Cross, England/Chalfonts Community College) has registered a UMAC-best seven shutouts and a 0.81 goals against average, also tops in the UMAC.

Series History: CSS leads the series with Crown 30-1-1 … The Saints won the first matchup against the Storm by a score of 4-0 ... CSS leads the series with Bethany Lutheran 21-3 … The Saints beat the Vikings 13-0 in their first game against each other.
 
Crown College Storm
The Storm are coming off a 3-2 win on Tuesday over Bethany Lutheran … They go into the weekend with a 7-4-2 overall record and they are 5-2-1 in the UMAC, which is good for third in the conference … Truman Shetler leads the team in goals with 15 on the year, which also ranks him tied for third in the conference … The Storm have used two goalies this season and Tanner Fisher has been the better of the two, having a 4-0-2 record and he leads the UMAC with a .822 save percentage.

Bethany Lutheran College Vikings
The Vikings go into the weekend having a 3-8-2 overall record and a 3-3-2 UMAC record … They lost their last game on Tuesday to Crown … Before the loss to Crown, they had won three of their last four games …  Benjamin Moldstad leads the team in goals with four with Chan Park not far behind with three of his own … Matt Bitter is the goalkeeper for the Vikings and he has had a rough year so far, coming into the weekend with a 2.66 goals against average and a .673 save percentage.
