DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team will host the University of Northwestern on Friday and North Central University on Saturday at the Reif Gymnasium.

St. Scholastica Saints

-The Saints look to continue their winning ways from this past weekend in which CSS defeated Martin Luther and Bethany Lutheran.
-The Saints are currently in a four way tie for the lead in the conference with Minnesota Morris, Northwestern and Martin Luther.

Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow (Braham, Minn./Braham HS (Minn. Duluth)) and
Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) have led the way offensively for CSS. Sorenson leads the team with 11.4 points per game and a UMAC-best 45.1 3-point percentage, and Hovick is second with 9.2 points per contest. Hovick also leads the team with 5.6 rebounds per game.

Erin Frase (Phillips, Wis./Phillips HS (UW-River Falls)) has also played well for the Saints, averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
-St. Scholastica has done a good job defending the 3-point line, holding opponents to 23.2 percent shooting.
-The Saints have also had difficulties with turnovers, as they average 18.8 per game. However, CSS's opponents average 17.4 turnovers per contest as well.

University of Northwestern Eagles
Record: 12-4 (4-1 UMAC)

-Northwestern looks to continue its three-game winning streak this weekend on the road. However, three of the four Eagles' losses have come on the road this season.
-The Eagles have shot the ball well from distance, shooting a UMAC-best 35.8 percent from beyond the arc, sporting three of the top four 3-point shooters in the conference.
-Northwestern has been balanced offensively this season, and Mollie Sir leads the way with a -UMAC-best 15.2 points per game. Jessica Fife is close behind with a 14.1 average, and Chanel Madison is third with a 13.9 average.
-Northwestern's 72.5 points per game is the best in the UMAC, and the Eagles are second in the conference with 16.3 turnovers per game.

North Central University Rams
Record: 6-8 (1-4 UMAC)

-The Rams look to build a winning streak this weekend after picking up its first conference win against Crown last Friday and then defeating Faith Baptist Bible College in non-conference play on Tuesday. NCU has fared better on the road (4-3) than at home (2-3).
-Jorie Grenell and Jamie High lead the way offensively for NCU. Grinell leads the UMAC with 15.2 points per game, while High averages 14.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game on 45.9 percent shooting.
-Despite sporting two of the top five scorers in the conference, the Rams are sixth in points per game and field goals made per game.
-North Central leads the UMAC with 15.0 assists per game as a team, and has the least turnovers per game in the conference (15.2).
-The Rams have had defensive issues against UMAC opponents thus far this season. With the exception of Crown, North Central has given up at least 70 points in every UMAC contest.
