Box Score ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team scored 14 goals against Crown College on Friday, tying the program record of most goals in a game set in the 2012 season.
Scoring was ignited at 5:11 when
Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) would net his first of the season. Minutes later,
Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) would record both his first of the season and first career natural hat trick, tallying in the 7th, 9th, and 27th minutes, respectively.
Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) would then get his first of four on the day in the 31st minute, while
Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) would tally just over a minute later in the 32nd minute.
Jenkins would add another two goals in the 37th and 39th minutes to put the Saints up 8-0 at the end of the first half. Shots were in favor of the Saints 22-1 heading into the second half.
Just over six minutes into the second half, Jenkins would score his fourth, with Watt again following by scoring just under a minute later in the 52nd minute.
The Saints continued their offensive explosion when
Shay Rabbers (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) added his first of the season in the 64th minute, and
Andrew Xotta-Dickson (Adelaide, South Australia/Prince Alfred College (Anoka Ramsey CC)) netting his first career goal in the 72nd minute.
Crown would rally in the 79th minute, with Truman Shelter getting the Storm on the board.
Brandon Scott (Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) and
Karl McGurk (Birmingham, England/Arthur Terry School) would close out scoring on the day, with Scott getting his first of the season in the 81st minute, and McGurk tallying his first career goal in the 89th minute.
The Saints outshot the Storm (1-4 overall, 0-1 UMAC) 45-1 in the contest.
CSS (3-2-2 overall, 2-0 UMAC) will look to stay undefeated in UMAC play when they travel to face the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday at noon.
