PREVIEW: Men's Soccer Traveling to Macalester on Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team hits the road Saturday for the first time this season when it takes on Macalester College at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul.

-Coming off a tie against a tough Carleton College squad on Sunday, the Saints will be looking for a non-conference win on Saturday.
-Saints goalkeeper Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) totaled five saves in the double overtime contest and was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
-Despite the 1-1-2 record the Saints have trailed only for 11 minutes and 37 seconds this season. That was late in the loss to Loras.
-CSS has scored first in three of the first four games.
-The Saints were 8-2-0 on the road last season.

Macalester College Scots

-Macalester's streak of five straight home games continues when the Scots take on the Saints Saturday Night. 10 of their 18 scheduled games are at home, including eight of their first 11.
-The Scots will host UW-Superior tonight before facing the Saints tomorrow.
-The Scots have had five players record goals this season in which only Alan Schembri-Wismayer has more than one.
-So far this season, the Scots have been outscored in almost every major statistical category, leading to a 1-3-0 record.
-The lone of the season came against the University of Northwestern on Monday by a final tally of 4-0.
-The Scots have been picked to finish tied for seventh in the MIAC this season.
 
Series History: (CSS is 5-5-1 vs. Macalester)
-The Saints have won the last two contests and four out of the last five against Macalester outscoring the Scots 9-3 in those five games.
-This regional rivalry dates all the way back to the year 1979 in which the game ended in a 1-1 tie here in Duluth.
