PREVIEW: Women’s Tennis to Face Stiff Competition on Sunday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team will have a pair of matches on Sunday against two recent perennial regional tennis powers in Division IIs Augustana College (S.D.) and the MIAC's Gustavus Adolphus.

Match Schedule:
Sunday vs. Augustana (S.D.) – 9 a.m. (Virginia, Minn.)
Sunday vs. Gustavus Adolphus – 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Tennis Center)

About the Saints
Record: 3-1, 0-0 UMAC

  • The Saints enter the weekend on a two-match winning streak. In all three of their wins this season they have shutout their opponents 9-0.
  • CSS is 20-4 in singles matches this year and 10-2 in doubles play.
  • Hillary Bungarden (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) has not dropped a match at No. 1 singles in dual play with a 4-0 record.

  • Augustana has made the NCAA Division II Tournament the past three seasons and have gone unbeaten in NSIC play during that span with a combined conference record of 31-0.
  • The Vikings are unbeaten thus far this season with an overall individual match record of 53-1.
  • The Vikings have not lost a singles match in dual play this year.
  • Augustana plays Minnesota Crookston and Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at the Arrowhead Tennis Center before playing the Saints in Sunday in Virginia.
