Box Score SUPERIOR, Wisc. – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team was unable to end a five-game losing streak as they fell to the Concordia-Moorhead Cobbers by a score of 81-55 Saturday night in the UW-Superior Tournament held at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.

Concordia jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening minute before the Saints' Trevor Morlock (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (Minn., Crookston)) hit a three-pointer for the Saints.  The Cobbers would extend the lead to 19-8 with 13:27 remaining in the half.  CSS would make a ferocious comeback in following minutes taking a 24-23 lead after a Tyler Rosenberger (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) jumper.

Concordia would retake the lead for good at the 6:38 mark after an uncontested layup.  The Cobbers would take a double digit lead, 45-33, going into the break.  CSS would finish the half shooting 52-percent from the field while the Cobbers were slightly lower at 50-percent.  Concorida go 6-for-6 from the free throw line compared to 0-for-2 from the Saints.

The second half was much of the same as the Cobbers started the half out on an 8-0 run to extend the lead to 20.  CSS would only get as close as 19 points in the half and would fall 81-55.

Concordia (2-1) was led by Jordan Bolger who led all scorers with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Brett Bergeson added 16 points off the bench for the Cobbers who finished the game shooting 49-percent from the field, 26-percent from beyond the arc, and 93-percent (14-15) from the free throw line.  Moorhead stole the ball 10 times but did commit 16 turnovers.

CSS was led by Mike Spoden (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) and Garret Pearson (Rush City, Minn./Rush City HS) with 11 points each. Morlock and Rosenberger chipped in eight points apiece.

The Saints finished the game shooting 41-percent from the field, 33-percent from beyond the arc, and were 6-for-9 from the charity stripe. CSS finished with 18 turnovers and were outrebounded 41-23.

St. Scholastica (0-6) is back in action tomorrow as they face the loser of UW-Superior/Finlandia which started right after the CSS/Moorhead matchup.  Tip is scheduled for 3 p.m..  Tune into csssaints.com for updates from this game.
