DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team will be back at the Super 8 Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stout this weekend.

Saturday vs. Dakota State (S.D.) - 4 p.m.
Sunday at UW-Stout - 2 p.m.
-The Saints look to rebound from its home opener loss to UW-Superior on Monday when they fell 74-63 to the Yellowjackets. CSS had a season-high 24 turnovers in the loss.
-
Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) leads the way for the Saints, averaging a team high 10.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest.
-The Saints have struggled on the boards this year. St. Scholastica has been out-rebounded by nearly 13 rebounds per game.
-The Saints have been balanced offensively. Hovick leads the way with 10.3 ppg, while
Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow (Braham, Minn./Braham HS (Minn. Duluth)) and
Caitlin McKernon (Coon Rapids, Minn./Fridley HS) average nearly nine per contest (8.8)
-Sorenson and McKernon have each scored in double figures in both of the last two games.
-Freshman
Kayla Swanson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) had a season-high 16 points vs. UWS.
-CSS has shot well from the line this year, converting 73 percent of its attempts. The Saints shot a season-best 83 percent from the charity stripe on Monday.

-Dakota State looks to snap a two-game losing skid against UW-Stout on Friday before facing the Saints on Sunday. The Trojans most recently fell to St. Cloud State 88-63 on Tuesday.
-DSU has been paced offensively by Kylie Westover and Erin Rabenberg. Westover leads the team with 12 ppg and Rabenberg is second with 9.6. Rabenberg is also shooting over 50 percent from the field, and is second on the team in shots behind Westover.
-The Trojans average nearly 70 points per game (68.8) and shoot 36.2 percent from beyond the arc, which is eighth best in NAIA DII.
-Dakota State has struggled from the line this season, as the Trojans have made just 67.5 percent of their free throw attempts.
-DSU is led by a new head coach, but familiar face in Jeff Dittman. Dittman returns to the Trojans after four years of coaching at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. Dittman had coached the Trojans for 16 seasons previously.

-UW-Stout looks to halt a two-game slide. The Blue Devils most recently fell to St. Cloud State 83-59 on Saturday.
-Stout has been led by Kyleigh Hebert and Shelby Sternba. Hebert leads the Blue Devils with 10.2 points and 2.2 assists per game, while Sternba averages 8.0 ppg and leads the team with 4.8 rebounds per contest.
-The Blue Devils sport a balanced lineup, as Sternba is the only player averaging more than 20 minutes per game (20.6).
