Box Score DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team concluded their UMAC regular season undefeated with a 6-0 win against Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday at Saints Field.
The scoring began at 31:39 when
Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) would tally his 17th of the season with
Ben Cullen (Clough, Northern Ireland/Shimna Integrated College) being credited with the assist.
Just under three minutes later,
Caleb Yurek (Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) would hit the back of the net and the Saints would head into the second half up 2-0.
The second half was all
Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) as he would record his second hat trick in as many days, tallying three in a row to complete the natural hat trick. His first came in the 74th minute, with
Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) adding in the assist, the second came in the 82nd minute on a penalty kick, and the third just two minutes later with
Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) assisting the goal.
Scoring on the day was closed out by a team goal, as Bethany Lutheran would play the ball into their own net to record an own goal.
Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) made two saves in the victory, as Bethany Lutheran now drops to 11-8-0 overall and 9-5-0 in UMAC play.
The Saints (15-2-3, 14-0-0 UMAC) will be back in action Wednesday when they face Bethany Lutheran again in the UMAC semifinals. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Saints Field. All of the action can be seen live on Saints Sports Net.
