PREVIEW: Men's Soccer Playing Two at Home this Weekend

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team will take on the University of Minnesota Morris this Friday at 3:15 p.m. and Crown College this Saturday at 2:15 p.m.  Both games will be played at Saints Field.

Game Times:
Friday vs. Minnesota Morris – 3:15 p.m.

St. Scholastica Saints
Record:
 11-2-3 (10-0-0 UMAC)
Head Coach: Barry Chastey
-CSS is coming off a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Bridge Rival UW-Superior on Tuesday Night at Ordean Stadium.
-The Saints are currently undefeated in UMAC play heading into this weekend with their last win coming last Saturday against North Central University 7-0.
-Two wins this weekend will give the Saints their fourth consecutive UMAC regular season championship and 14th overall.
-CSS continues to lead the nation in scoring offense (5.07 goals/game), total goals (76) and assists (84). The second-ranked team in each category is 10 goals and 29 assists back.
-Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) is currently leading NCAA Division III in goals with 22 while teammate Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) is fifth with 16.
-Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) and Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) are No. 1 & 2, respectively, in the nation in assists. Morgan had the game-tying goal vs. UWS on Tuesday.
-Goalkeeper Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) is ranked 10th in the country in save percentage (.889) and 12th in goals-against-average (0.48).

University of Minnesota Morris Cougars
Record: 9-7-0 (8-2-0 UMAC)
Head Coach: Scott Turnbull
-The Cougars have wins in their last five matches and have won seven of their last eight dating back to September 27th.
-Their last win came against Martin Luther College by a score of 2-0 last Saturday.
-The Cougars managed only seven shots on goal, but made the most of them with the goals being scored by Shingo Yamane and Ebrima Badgie.
-Badgie is currently leading the team in goals with eight, and total points with 20.
-In goal, Jacob Borash and Matthew Yost have somewhat split time. Borash has a 1.36 GAA, but only a .667 save percentage. Yost has a 0.92 GAA and a .829 save percentage.
Series History: (CSS is 14-3-3 vs. Minnesota Morris)
-The Saints haven't officially lost against Minnesota Morris since 2009.
-In that span there have been three ties and eight wins for the Saints.

-Crown has lost six out of their last eight matches with the last win coming against Martin Luther College 3-2.
-In this span they have been outscored 42-14 with the worst loss coming against Minnesota Morris 11-0.
-Truman Shetler currently leads the team in goals with 10, while Sam Eckman is second with five.
-Crown has scored 25 goals so far this season in 14 games.

Series History: (CSS is 27-1-1 vs. Crown)
-The lone loss to Crown came in 2002 when Crown defeated the Saints 1-0 with the lone tie coming in 2005.
-Since that tie the Saints have won 15 straight matches.
-CSS matched a program-record by scoring 14 goals vs. Crown earlier this season.
