Hewitt’s 11 Saves Not Enough in Loss to the Knights

Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. (csssaints.com) – Dan Nadeau scored in the 55th minute to give Wartburg College (Iowa) a 1-0 victory on Saturday over the St. Scholastica men's soccer team at the Cobber Classic, hosted by Concordia College-Moorhead.

The Saints were outshot 12-2 in the opening half, but CSS goalkeeper Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) made eight saves to keep the game scoreless.

The Knights (1-1-1) pulled through in the second half as Nadeau scored from the top of the box with an assist from Bob Brown. The Saints would only get a pair of shots off after the goal, but none were on goal.

Wartburg outshot the Saints 16-4 for the game. Hewitt ended with a career-high 11 saves in the loss, while Zak Kohlmeyer needed to make just two saves to earn the shutout.

The Saints (2-2-0) will be back at home on Tuesday as they open up conference play against Northland College. Action will begin at 4:30 p.m. All of the action can be seen live on Saints Sports Net.
