DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team will stop in Chicago Tuesday night on its way back from New York to take on 15th-ranked University of Chicago at 7 p.m.

CSS did not drop a set in all four matches.

Anna Zyvoloski (Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS (Minn.-Duluth)) led the team with 58 kills and was named the tournament's most valuable player.

Setter Erika Birkeland (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) averaged 11.5 assists per set and was also named to the all-tournament team.

Head Coach Dana Moore recorded her 300th coaching victory on Friday night with the 3-0 victory over St. Lawrence University (N.Y.).

The Saints recorded 154 kills in the four matches of the tournament.

CSS also had 23 service aces, which averaged almost two per set.

Megan Windschitl (Sartell, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) led the team with 12 total blocks, while freshman Danielle Benusa (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) stepped in and led the team with 49 digs.
About the Maroons

Chicago went 3-1 last weekend in the Elmhurst (Ill.) Invitational.

The only loss came against the host, 11th-ranked Elmhurst, in a five set back-and-forth affair.

The Maroons were 30-6 in 2011 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Washington University-St. Louis.

Just like the Saints, last year's opening round win in the NCAA Tournament was the first in program history.

10 players return from last year's squad, but gone are a pair of outside hitters, including the program's all-time kill leader Isis Smalls, and a setter.

Leading the returnees is AVCA Honorable mention All-American middle blocker Caroline Brander.

In its one and only meeting, the Saints defeated the Maroons in Chicago 3-1 in 2005.
