DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer teams will be hosting Bethany Lutheran College and Martin Luther College on Friday and Saturday at Saints Field to wrap up the first half of conference play.

About the Saints
Record: 7-2-0, 5-0-0 UMAC

• The Saints look to keep their five-game winning streak alive and remain undefeated in the conference.

• Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) and the Saints defense has been lights-out as of late, not allowing a goal in two games. Hewitt leads the UMAC in save percentage with .857.
• Defender Ben Cullen (Clough, Northern Ireland/Shimna Integrated College) was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
• The Saints average nearly four goals a game (3.78), while opponents average less than one goal per contest (0.78).

About the Vikings
Record: 3-6-0, 2-2-0 UMAC

• The Vikings look to rebound from a 3-1 defeat at UW-Superior Tuesday. The Vikings have slipped as of late, losing three of their last four contests.
• The Vikings have mustered only one goal in their past two games, a 24th minute strike from freshman Ryan Behmer on Tuesday.
• Michael Loquercio and Benjamin Moldstad lead the Knights with 10 points apiece. Moldstad leads the team with five goals while Loquercio is tops with four assists.
• Bethany Lutheran's defense has recorded two shut outs thus far this season, but have allowed 10 goals in the past four games.
• The Knights have nine assists on the year so far, improving from having just 12 all of last season.
• The Vikings were picked to finish fourth in the UMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll and look to upset the reigning three time conference champion Saints.

About the Knights
Record: 1-7-0, 0-4 UMAC

• The Knights have lost their last five contests by a combined total of 14-4, and have scored one goal in their past three games.
• The Knights have yet to win a conference game and have been outscored in conference play 12-3. The Knights have been outshot 113-157 on the season.
• Junior forward Ryan Lemke has been a bright spot for the Knights this season, leading the team in points (8) and goals (3) and shares the team assist lead with two.
• Martin Luther was picked to place seventh in the in the UMAC preseason coaches poll. The Knights face conference rival Northland on Friday and look to pull off a big upset Saturday as they travel to Duluth to square off against the Saints.

The Saints are 14-1 when hosting Martin Luther and have not been defeated by the Knights since 2002. The Saints have outscored the Knights 19-1 in the past two contests.

About the Saints
Record: 5-3-1, 4-1-0 UMAC

• The Saints came off a strong week in the UMAC after defeating North Central 8-0 and Northwestern 2-0.
• Sophomore Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) had a hat trick in the win vs. North Central on Thursday.
• The Saints have outshot opponents 110-43 in the first half on games this season.
• Junior Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) leads the Saints with 16 points on the year.
• Junior Taylor Cunningham (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) was named the UMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after recording eight points last week.
• The goalkeeping staff has allowed only one goal in UMAC play thus far.
• Freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) leads the UMAC with a .875 save percentage.

About the Vikings
Record: 5-4-1, 3-1-0 UMAC

• The Vikings have won three of four UMAC contests which places them tied for second in the conference standings and with the same number of conference losses as the Saints.
• The Vikings have won three games in row, just recently dispatching UW-Superior 4-2.
• Three players lead the Vikings with four goals apiece.
• Bridget Hennen was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
• Alexa Mowery leads the goalkeeping staff with 59 saves on the year.

The Saints defeated Bethany last year in the UMAC Tournament Semifinals by a score of 2-1.  The Saints needed two goals in the last 15 minutes to come from behind to win the game.

About the Knights
Record: 3-5-0, 2-2-0 UMAC

• The Knights sit fifth in the current UMAC rankings.
• The Knights fell to Minnesota Morris 5-0, but rebounded to defeat Crown 2-1 last week in UMAC play.
• Martin Luther has yet to win a contest on the road this season, non-conference games included.
