Box Score DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team tallied four goals in the second half to prevail 6-1 against Crown on a sunny Friday afternoon at Saints Field.
Scoring began when
Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) netted a pair of goals within one minute of each other, the first coming at 20:17 and the second at 21:03, giving him a league leading total of six.
Rob Johnson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was credited with assists on both goals, taking home three on the day.
Crown rallied back in the 27th minute when Jason Budish scored his first goal of season. The first half ended with the Saints ahead by one.
The Saints would fuel an offensive burst in the second half when
Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) scored his first collegiate goal in the 58th minute.
Erik Trochimchuk (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Hammarskjold HS) netted one in the 69th minute and
Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) notched one in the 76th minute.
Kasey Bacso (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) also earned his first collegiate goal when he closed out the scoring in the 84th minute.
Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) made two saves to earn him the win in goal for the Saints. Crown's keeper Duncan Sloan recorded 10 saves as the Saints out shot Crown 30-4 in the contest.
CSS improves its record to 4-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the UMAC. Crown falls to 1-4-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the UMAC.
