DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The last two Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season champions will take to the field on Saturday as the St. Scholastica football team faces Greenville College (Ill.) at Malosky Stadium for its fifth Homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Record: 1-1, 1-0 UMAC

  • The Saints have won three straight homecoming games after dropping their first-ever homecoming game in 2008.
  • CSS has also won six straight home games at Malosky Stadium with its last loss coming against Northwestern College during its inaugural season.

  • Tyler Harper (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS)'s 300 yards of total offense last week was the seventh time a CSS quarterback has accumulated 300 yards of total offense in game.


About the Panthers

  • Greenville was the last conference team to defeat that Saints and that took place on October 9, 2010 when the Panthers won 35-7 at Public Schools Stadium. The Saints have won 14 straight UMAC games since then.
  • The Panthers were picked to win the conference this season, according to the preseason coaches' poll, edging the Saints by one vote. Both teams received three, first-place votes.
  • Greenville ended the 2011 season on a seven-game winning streak after dropping its first three games.
  • Greenville leads the conference in rushing after just one game this season. The Panthers have led the UMAC in rushing the past two seasons, averaging over 300 yards/game.
  • The Panthers had a bye last week to prepare for the Saints. Last year, the Saints had their bye week before playing at Greenville.
  • Quarterback Brendan Chambers led the conference in rushing a year ago, averaging 120 yards per game. He also led the league in scoring with 19 touchdowns.

  • The Saints jumped out to a 27-0 lead before Greenville stormed back scoring 26 points in the final 25 minutes of the game.
  • The loss was the first for the Panthers in two years of UMAC play.
