PREVIEW: Soccer Teams begin Conference Play at Home Tuesday

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer teams will kickoff Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action on Tuesday when they host Northland College at Saints Field.

About the Saints
Record: 2-2-0, 0-0-0 UMAC

  • Head Coach Barry Chastey earned his 100th career coaching victory in the team's 4-2 win over Concordia College-Moorhead on Friday.
  • The Saints enter UMAC play unbeaten in their last 34 regular season conference games.
  • In 2011, the Saints allowed just two goals in conference play.
  • Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) scored two goals against Concordia-Moorhead and leads the team. He missed the Wartburg (Iowa) game due to being injured on his second goal vs. the Cobbers.

  • Freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) is averaging 10 saves in each of her first four games.
  • The Saints have gotten off eight or fewer shots in each of the first four games against strong regional competition.
