ST. PAUL – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team had 15 top 10 finishes and broke two program records on Friday at the Hamline Invitational.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS),
Laurel Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS),
Rachel Thelen (Park Rapids, Minn./Park Rapids HS) and
Maggie Bair (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS) broke one of the records with a time of 48.96 seconds, placing second.
Ohaju also placed third in the 400-meter run, just missing a program record with a time of 58.79 seconds.
The other record broken on the day was
Tracy Perish (Browerville, Minn./Browerville HS) in javelin with mark of 125'1” (38.13m) to finish fourth.
Rachel Miller (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) was right behind her in fifth with a toss of 114'7” (34.94m). Miller also finished as runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 36'0.75” (10.99m).
Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) was fourth in the shot put, recording a distance of 41'4.5” (12.61m).
Alec Seeley (Cadott, Wis./Cadott HS) was sixth at 40'0” (12.19m). Seeley and Huberty went seventh and eighth, respectively, in the hammer throw with distances of 152'-4” (46.44m) and 150'0” (45.71m).
Bre Lohn (Benson, Minn./Benson HS) was eighth in the high jump, clearing 4'11” (1.50m) and
Katie Walrath (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) was ninth in the discus throw at 115'7” (35.22m).
Chelsea Johnson (North Branch, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) was also ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:27.28.
Olivia Krejcarek (Manitowoc, Wis./Manitowoc Roncalli HS) was 10th in the pole vault, clearing 10'-0” (3.05m) and
Danielle Dickson (Roseville, Minn./Totino Grace HS/Roseville HS) was 10th in the long jump with a leap of 15'7” (4.75m).
The Saints will take part in the Falcon Invite next Friday and Saturday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Friday's action begins at 3 p.m., while Saturday's events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
