WINONA, Minn. – Those St. Scholastica women's track & field members not competing at the Drake Relays took part in the Saint Mary's Open on Saturday.
Alec Seeley (Cadott, Wis./Cadott HS) won the hammer throw breaking a program record with a toss of 172'3” (52.51m), which moves her up to ninth in NCAA Division III this season. Seeley, who also qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in March in the weight throw, has put herself in great position to qualify for the outdoor championships.
Rachel Miller (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) won the triple jump with a leap of 34'7.5” (10.55m). She also placed third in the javelin throw with a mark of 106'11” (32.58m).
Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) was third in the hammer throw with distance of 156'10” (47.80m). She also placed fourth in the shot put with mark of 41'4.25” (12.60m). Seeley was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 41'3.75” (12.59m).
Danielle Dickson (Roseville, Minn./Totino Grace HS/Roseville HS) placed third in the long jump with a leap of 16'2.5” (4.94m).
Katie Walrath (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) was sixth in the discus with a toss of 123'1” (37.52m). In running events,
Brea Durovec (Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS) was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.24.
The Saints will be in action next Saturday when they compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championships in Morris, Minn. Action is scheduled to begin at noon.
