DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team won six events on Tuesday at the Twin Ports Open, including one program record set by
Rachel Thelen (Park Rapids, Minn./Park Rapids HS) in the 100-meter dash.
In not ideal conditions for a sprinter due to the cooler temperatures and without the aid of the wind, Thelen set the program record in the 100-meter dash, winning with a time of 12.66 seconds.
Laurel Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) was second in that event with a time of 12.83 seconds and
Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) was fourth at 13.15 seconds.
Those three sprinters along with
Maggie Bair (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS) then teamed up to win the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 49.99 seconds.
Thelen also placed third in the pole vault clearing a height of 10'0.75” (3.07m).
Shelby Dugas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) also cleared that height to finish fourth.
Rachel Miller (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) won the triple jump with mark of 36'8.5” (11.19m) and finished second in the javelin with a throw of 101'8” (30.99m). Teammate
Tracy Perish (Browerville, Minn./Browerville HS) won the javelin with a toss of 116'8” (35.55m).
Brea Durovec (Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS) won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.88 seconds. Durovec was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 17.20 seconds.
CSS swept the top three spots in the high jump with
Bre Lohn (Benson, Minn./Benson HS) taking the event, clearing 4'11.75” (1.52m).
Alex Blair (Drake, Saskatchewan/Lanigan Central HS) was second at 4'9.75” (1.47m) and
Olivia Krejcarek (Manitowoc, Wis./Manitowoc Roncalli HS) was third with that same height.
Mariah Berg (Bagley, Minn./Bagley HS) was second in the long jump with a leap of 15'11.5” (4.86m).
Kayla Roberge (Burnsville, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) was also second in the 1,500-meter run finishing in 5:02.36.
Alec Seeley (Cadott, Wis./Cadott HS) placed third in the shot put with a toss of 41'0.5” (12.51m).
Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) was right behind her in fourth with a mark of 39'5” (12.01m). Those two flip-flopped in the hammer throw with Huberty third at 157'8” (48.06m) and Seeley fourth at 156'11” (47.82m).
Besides CSS and UMD, the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Michigan Tech University and North Central University competed in the meet.
The Saints will be in action again on Saturday at the St. Norbert Invitational in De Pere, Wis. Events will begin at 10:30 a.m.
