Howard Breaks Discus Record Twice in Consecutive Days

OSHKOSH, Wis. – John Howard (Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) of the St. Scholastica men's track & field team broke his own discus record on Thursday night at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Qualifier and then again on Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Last Chance Meet.

On Thursday night, the Saints competed at the UW-La Crosse Qualifier. John Howard (Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) broke his own program record in the discus throw with a toss of 147'-0” (44.81m). Tony Evans (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond HS) was third in javelin with a distance of 144'-3” (43.96m).

On Friday at the UW-Oshkosh Last Chance Meet, Howard broke the discus record again with a distance of 153'-11” (46.91m). Evans finished second in the javelin throw with a distance of 166'-2” (50.64m). Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) was ninth in the hammer throw at 166'-2” (50.64m).
