Hanson Breaks 110 Hurdle Record at Eagle Open

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Sophomore Justin Hanson (Atwater, Minn./Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City HS) broke his own program record in the 110-meter hurdles on Friday night at the Eagle Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Hanson, who broke the record in the 400-meter hurdles at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Meet last week, bettered his mark in the 110-meter hurdles tonight with a time of 15.30 seconds to finish third. He also took top honors in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.50 seconds.

Tony Evans (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond HS) was third in the javelin throw with a distance of 143'-00” (43.58m). Peter Drinkwine (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 43'-10.5” (13.37m). Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) was also fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 158'-11” (48.45m).

The Saints will be back in La Crosse next Thursday for their final Last Chance Qualifier. The meet will begin at 4 p.m.
