DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team competed in its one and only outdoor meet in the Twin Ports on Friday at the North Country Invite, hosted by the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
John Howard (Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) broke the lone program record in the discus with a distance of 144'-7” (44.07m) to finish as a runner-up in that event.
Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) won the hammer throw with a distance of 168'-7” (51.38m), defeating the rest of the field by nearly three meters.
Peter Drinkwine (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) was second in the triple jump with a distance of 41'-1.5” (12.53m).
Zach Visina (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was also second in the high jump, clearing a height of 6'-1.25” (1.86m).
Aaron Marcella (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) also cleared that height to place third.
Justin Hanson (Atwater, Minn./Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City HS) was third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.87 seconds. The 4x100-meter relay team of
Andre Ward (Brooklyn Center, Minn./Brooklyn Center HS ),
Sherome Milon (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS),
Addison Griffin (Superior, Wis./Superior HS (UW-River Falls)), and
Joe Ohlin (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) was third with a time of 43.82 seconds. Milon also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.31 seconds.
Jake Jensen (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) placed third in the long jump with a leap of 19'-2.5” (5.85m).
Due to cancellation of Tuesday's Twin Ports Open, the Saints have picked up another meet on their schedule and that will take place on Wednesday when they take part in the Macalester Twilight with events beginning at 5 p.m.
